Deepening Connection and Understanding Across New Hampshire's Urban/Rural Divide

Our country is deeply divided politically and that has an impact on our relationships. So many of us have a story of hurt and anger between family and friends. Reach out and try this with someone you care about. 

 

Deepening Connection & Understanding Across New Hampshire's Urban/Rural Divide is an online nonpartisan initiative led by NH Listens and Urban Rural Action where we will practice listening and connecting – we all want to be heard and understood. The goal is not to agree but to build connections, strengthen collaboration skills and promote understanding across distance and difference in New Hampshire.

 

This initiative is generously underwritten thanks to a Community Projects Grant from the New Hampshire Humanities.

 

We’ll meet four times over the next several months starting on September 10th. The program is open to all New Hampshire residents, 18-plus years of age, from urban, suburban, and rural areas who want to build relationships and explore different perspectives. What is this program all about?
It's a NON-PARTISAN initiative led by New Hampshire Listens and UR Action to build connections, strengthen collaboration skills, and promote understanding across distance and difference in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire residents 18+ from urban, suburban, and rural areas with wide-ranging views who want to explore different perspectives across The Granite State. Bring your passion with you!

We'll meet ONLINE for structured discussion and small group brainstorming on how to strengthen our communities.

Summary of program activities (online):

1. ​ September 10, 2020 @ 4-6 pm: Build connections and explore different perspectives of community members across New Hampshire on issues that impact all communities.
2. October 1, 2020 @ 4-6 pm: Analyze community challenges, with a focus on what's most important to you3. November 5, 2020 @ 4-6 pm: Explore action to address challenges across communities in NH
4. February 11, 2021 @ 4-6 pm: Conduct storytelling event to share experiences in the program
